Galaxy S10 5G, Galaxy S10 Lite start getting January 2022 security update

Two weeks ago, Samsung had released a new security update to the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and the Galaxy S10+. Now, that security update is being released to the Galaxy S10 Lite and the Galaxy S10 5G in a few countries.

The new software update for the Galaxy S10 Lite comes with firmware version G770FXXS6FVA1. It includes the January 2022 security patch, and it is available in Russia and Spain. The Galaxy S10 5G is getting the same security update with firmware version G977BXXUBGVA4, and it is currently rolling out in Germany, Italy, Nordic countries, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK.

If you are a Galaxy S10 Lite or Galaxy S10 5G user in any of the countries mentioned above, you might have already received a notification of the new update. If you haven’t received it yet, you can manually check for the latest update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

The Galaxy S10 5G was launched in early 2019 with Android 9 on board, and it has received the Android 10, Android 11, and Android 12 updates. The Galaxy S10 Lite debuted in early 2020 with Android 10 on board. It has received Android 11 and Android 12 updates already.
