Galaxy Note 9 starts getting January 2022 security update in the US
Even though the Galaxy Note 9 is more than three years old, Samsung has been consistently rolling out security updates to the smartphone. Today, the company has released the January 2022 security update to the carrier-locked and unlocked Galaxy Note 9 units in the US.
The latest security update for the carrier-locked Galaxy Note 9 comes with firmware version N960USQS9FVA1, while the unlocked units are getting the update with firmware version N960U1UES9FVA1. The update brings the January 2022 security patch that fixes dozens of privacy and security-related vulnerabilities in the Galaxy Note 9.
If you are a Galaxy Note 9 user in the US, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and clicking on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware for your phone from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy Note 9 in the second half of 2018 with Android 8.1 on board. The phone received the Android 9 and Android 10 updates in the past. Currently, the device is getting quarterly security updates.
