Galaxy Note 20 series gets access to September 2022 security update

Although Samsung is a bit late this month, the company is quickly rolling out the September 2022 security update to multiple smartphones. Earlier today, the company released it to the Galaxy A52s 5G, Galaxy S20 FE 5G, and the Galaxy S21 series. Now, the update has been released to the Galaxy Note 20 series in Europe.

The latest software update for the LTE variants of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra bumps up their firmware version to N98xFXXS5FVH7. For the 5G variants of the phones, the new update bears firmware version N98xBXXS5FVH7. The update is currently available in multiple European countries, including Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the UK.

The September 2022 security update fixes 24 vulnerabilities found in the Galaxy Note 20 series and other Galaxy devices. It also improves the reliability and stability of Samsung’s smartphones. If you are a Galaxy Note 20 series user in any of the countries mentioned above, you can now download the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the updated firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

The Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are Samsung’s last Galaxy Note series smartphones. They were launched with Android 10 onboard. They received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in early 2021 and the Android 12-based One UI 4 update earlier this year. They will get the Android 13-based One UI 5 update later this year or early next year.
