Galaxy M01, M02s get their November 2022 security update two months late

Although it’s January 2023, Samsung is still in the process of rolling out the November 2022 security update to some of its older phones. The Galaxy M01 and the Galaxy M02s are the latest Samsung phones getting a two-month-old security update.

The latest software update for the Galaxy M01 is rolling out in Russia with firmware version M015FXXU4CVL3. The Galaxy M02s is getting its latest update in Nepal with firmware version M025FXXS4CVK1. The update brings the November 2022 security patch to smartphones, and it fixes over four dozen security vulnerabilities. Since both devices, the Galaxy M01 and the Galaxy M02s, have received two major Android updates, they won’t get the Android 13 update.

If you have a Galaxy M01 or the Galaxy M02s and live in the countries mentioned above, you can install the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

The Galaxy M01 was launched in mid-2020, and the Galaxy M02s was announced in early 2021, and both phones debuted with Android 10 onboard. Samsung released two major Android OS updates—Android 11 and Android 12—to both phones. They will continue to get security updates for at least one year.
