Galaxy Buds 2 Pro vs Galaxy Buds 2: Battle of ANC wireless earbuds

One year after the launch of the Galaxy Buds 2, Samsung is ready with its Pro version of wireless earbuds. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro were unveiled today alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and the Galaxy Watch 5 series. If you are someone who is looking to buy new wireless earbuds or already have the Galaxy Buds 2, this comparison might be useful.

Galaxy Buds 2 Pro vs Galaxy Buds 2: Which is better for you?

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is obviously Samsung’s flagship wireless earbuds for 2022. They feature a dual-driver setup, similar to the Galaxy Buds+, Galaxy Buds Pro, and the Galaxy Buds 2. However, they feature better ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) than any previous Galaxy Buds. The new earbuds feature a newer Bluetooth version, a higher-quality Samsung Seamless Codec HiFi, and improved 360 Audio with Direct Multi-Channel.

The new earbuds also feature an IPX7 rating for water resistance, which is much better than the Galaxy Buds 2’s IPX2 rating. Other features, including AAC and SBC codecs, Bixby, Ambient Mode, Voice Pickup, SmartThings Find, and Dolby Audio, remain similar to the Galaxy Buds 2.

The Galaxy Buds 2 and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro have similar battery life. They also feature a USB Type-C port for charging. Both earbuds also feature Qi wireless charging. The Galaxy Buds 2 are cheaper ($150), of course, and has most features of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, which is priced at $229.

So, unless you want the extreme best ANC performance or Hi-Res audio streaming quality, the Galaxy Buds 2 is good enough. If you want improved audio quality and an IPX7 rating, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro would be a good choice for you.
