Galaxy A9 (2018) picks up the October 2021 security update

Samsung has released its latest security update to the three-year-old Galaxy A9 (2018). The mid-range smartphone, which debuted with Android 8.0 Oreo, has been consistently getting security updates once every three months.

The Galaxy A9 (2018) has started getting a new software update in South Korea. It comes with firmware version A920NKSU5CUI1 and includes the October 2021 security patch. According to Samsung, the latest security patch fixes more than 60 vulnerabilities related to data security and user privacy. The update could also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

If you are a Galaxy A9 (2018) user in South Korea and haven’t received this software update yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. If you are feeling impatient, you can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
