Galaxy A9 (2018) gets the July 2021 security update
The Galaxy A9 (2018), which is a three-year-old smartphone, is getting the latest security patch. Samsung had started rolling out the July 2021 security update in the last week of June, and the Galaxy S10 was the first smartphone to get it. Over the past four weeks, the company has released the update to dozens of Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
Samsung has released a new software update to the Galaxy A9 (2018) in Brazil, but more markets will get this update over the next few days. The latest update bears firmware version A920FXXU5CUG4 and includes the July 2021 security patch. The South Korean firm had mentioned on its website that the July 2021 update fixes more than 20 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities in Galaxy smartphones.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy A9 (2018) in 2018 with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The mid-range smartphone received the Android 9 Pie update in early 2019 and the Android 10-based One UI 2 update in early 2020. It won’t get any major Android OS update in the future.
