Galaxy A51 is the first phone to get January 2022 security update

Samsung has done it again. The company has released a new security patch even before the start of the month. The South Korean firm has started rolling out the January 2022 security update to the Galaxy A51 in a few markets. More smartphones and tablets will start getting this update over the next few weeks.

The latest software update for the Galaxy A51 comes with firmware version A515FXXU5EUL3, and it is currently available in Malaysia and Russia. It contains the January 2022 security patch, but Samsung is yet to reveal which vulnerabilities are fixed in the new update. As usual, the update might include general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

If you are a Galaxy A51 user in any of the countries mentioned above, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file for your device from our firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy A51 in December 2019 with Android 10 on board. The company released the Android 11-based One UI 3 update earlier this year. Sometime early next year, the smartphone will get the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update that brings newer UI design, improved privacy and security, and many new features.
