Galaxy A42 starts getting March 2022 security update

Samsung has started rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy A42 5G. The company has released the update in Puerto Rico, but more countries are expected to get the update soon. The update could soon roll out to carrier-unlocked Galaxy A42 5G in the US.

The latest software update for the Galaxy A42 5G comes with firmware version A426U1UEU3AVC1. It brings the March 2022 security patch along with general bug fixes, stability improvements, and performance enhancements. The March 2022 security patch fixes over 50 privacy and security vulnerabilities.

If you are a Galaxy A42 5G user in Puerto Rico, you can check for the latest software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually. Don’t forget to backup your data before this process, though.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy A42 5G in mid-2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2.5. The smartphone received the Android 11 update in the first half of 2021 and the Android 12 update in some countries earlier this year.
