Galaxy A30s gets new update and June 2020 security patch

A bunch of Galaxy phones have received the June 2020 security patch over the past couple of days. The general rollout has only just begun and the list of phones to get the update is constantly increasing, with the Galaxy A30s being one of the latest additions. Indeed, the Galaxy A30s is now getting a new update that pushes the firmware version to A307FNXXU2BTE4 and brings the June 2020 security patch along with it. As a quick reminder, firmware version A307FNXXU2BTD1 was released a few months ago and represented a more noteworthy leap from Android 9 to Android 10.The firmware update is rolling out to the Galaxy A30s, model number SM-A307FN in Israel, but many other markets are bound to get the update soon. According to Samsung’s own changelog, the package shouldn’t include any newer functions or features, and this should be just a regular security patch, despite the firmware version suggesting otherwise. Even so, the June 2020 security patch should fix a variety of vulnerabilities affecting the Galaxy A30s software from Android OS to Samsung’s own proprietary launcher. To grab the latest June update, tap the notification when it arrives or open Settings on the Galaxy A30s, navigate to Software update, and tap Download and install. You can circumvent this process by visiting our firmware archive, downloading the firmware for your specific phone/model number and region, and installing it using a Windows PC.
