Galaxy A20 gets a month-old security update in the US

Samsung has finally released a new security update to the Galaxy A20 in the US. You would be disappointed if you were expecting it to be the April 2022 update.

The carrier-unlocked version of the Galaxy A20 (SM-A205U1) has started getting the March 2022 security update in the US. It comes with firmware version A205U1UESBCVD3. The update fixes more than 50 privacy and security vulnerabilities found in Galaxy phones. It also fixes other bugs and improves the overall device stability.

If you are a Galaxy A20 user in the US, you can now download and install the latest software update on your phone by navigating to Settings » Software update and clicking Download and install. Alternatively, you can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy A20 in early 2019 with Android 9-based One UI software. The mid-range phone received the Android 10-based One UI 2.1 update in the first half of 2020. Last year, it received the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update.
