Galaxy A13 5G inching closer to Europe, Samsung support page goes live
Globally, the Galaxy A13 5G had a head start of a few months over the 4G model. The 5G variant went on sale in December, whereas the Galaxy A13 4G hit the shelves a few months later in March 2022. But unlike in most markets, Samsung had different plans for the budget phone in Europe and skipped the 5G model altogether.
Now, fresh evidence suggests that Samsung is reconsidering those plans and is preparing to release the Galaxy A13 5G in Europe.
Samsung brought the Galaxy A13 4G to customers in Europe last month but didn’t mention anything about the 5G variant coming to the Old Continent.
There’s still no official release date in sight, but our colleagues at GalaxyClub found an online support page on Samsung’s Greece portal that hints at a European launch.
The page mentions model number “SM-A136B.” It corresponds to the Galaxy A13 5G, but no other details like hardware specs were mentioned.
Nevertheless, it’s not like the A13 5G is a mystery. It may be a latecomer to Europe, but it is available for purchase in several other markets, including the United States. And with the support page going live, it shouldn’t take long before customers in Europe can buy it.
Galaxy A13 5G specifications revisited
Samsung’s budget 5G phone features a 6.5-inch PLS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. The display has an Infinity-V design for the selfie camera.
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset and has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage expandable via microSD.
You can find a triple camera setup next to an LED flash at the back of the phone. It consists of a 50MP wide camera with PDAF, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera has a 5MP resolution.
Samsung gave the Galaxy A13 5G a 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging capabilities. The mobile device is also equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for increased security, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for standard audio equipment.
