Galaxy A11, Galaxy A31, Galaxy A51 5G are getting January 2022 security update

Samsung has started rolling out a new security update to the Galaxy A11, Galaxy A31, and the Galaxy A51 5G. If you are hoping to see the February 2022 security update, you would be disappointed. The three smartphones are getting the January 2022 security patch with the new update.

The latest update for the Galaxy A11 has firmware version A115FXXS2BVA1, and it is available in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The new software update for the Galaxy A31 (with firmware version A315FXXU1CVA1) is rolling out in Afghanistan, the Caucasus region, Egypt, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the UAE, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

Samsung has released the January 2022 security update to the Galaxy A51 5G with firmware version A516BXXU5CUL9 in Europe, Taiwan, and the UK.

The January 2022 security patch consists of dozens of privacy and security-related vulnerabilities, and Samsung had detailed them last month.

If you are a Galaxy A11, Galaxy A31, or Galaxy A51 5G user in any of the respective regions mentioned above, you might have already received the new update. If you haven’t received it yet, you can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file for your device from our firmware section and flash it manually.
