Galaxy A03s gets One UI 5.0 months ahead of the original schedule

Another day, another Galaxy device is getting Android 13. And surprisingly enough, the latest smartphone to have received One UI 5.0 is the Galaxy A03s, with Samsung beating its tentative schedule by at least a couple of months.

Samsung’s One UI 5.0 roadmap for the Netherlands and Germany said that the Galaxy A03s should receive the update in February 2023. The company’s roadmap for India, Canada, and Malaysia suggested that the budget Galaxy A03s may receive Android 13 a month later, in March 2023.

Here we are in December 2022, and the Galaxy A03s is getting the One UI 5.0 update months ahead of the original schedule, which is quite fitting, given that the phone was spotted at the Wi-Fi Alliance running Android 13 near the end of October.

Galaxy A03s gets One UI 5.0 in Europe

Serbia appears to be the first country to get One UI 5.0 for the Galaxy A03s. More specifically, the update is available for the SM-A037G variant, and as of this writing, it might be limited to the Galaxy A03s on A1 Srbija d.o.o.’s network (formerly VIP Mobile). But we’re guessing that Android 13 and One UI 5.0 will spread to other countries across the European continent soon.

The Galaxy A03s runs the Core version of One UI, so the new One UI 5.0 update won’t be as featureful as it is on other devices in the Galaxy A or Galaxy S lineups. Nevertheless, it should bring some performance improvements and a few beneficial changes to the UI and Samsung apps.

If you own the Galaxy A03s (SM-A037G), you should be able to install Android 13 via the Settings app after navigating to “Software update” and tapping “Download and install.” You can also refer to our firmware page, where you can download the official update files for your specific Samsung smartphone variant and region, if available. This method will require you to update your phone manually using a PC.
