Galaxy A03 Core is finally getting a long-awaited OS upgrade

We haven’t heard much about Android 12 lately because, for the most part, Samsung closed that chapter and is now focusing on distributing One UI 5.1 to more Galaxy phones and tablets. But today, the almost endless string of One UI 5.1 news got interrupted by Android 12 because the latter version is now rolling out to an older Galaxy phone — one that carries the “Core” label.

It’s the Galaxy A03 Core that has the honor of making the jump from Android 11 to Android 12. The update is available for the Galaxy A03 Core (SM-A032F) in Russia, of all places. It carries firmware version A032FXXU2BWC3.

Since this is a “Core” Galaxy device, the Android 12 update, and more specifically the accompanying One UI 4 version, is not as feature-rich as other updates for Galaxy phones that don’t carry the “Core” label. Core phones are designed to be cheap, and the Galaxy A03 Core has only 2GB of RAM. This new version of Android and One UI are more lightweight than usual. Nevertheless, a new OS update from Android 11 to Android 12 should bring some new features or a more modern makeover, at the very least.

As of now, the update appears to be available only in Russia, but more markets in which Samsung sold the Galaxy A03 Core should follow sooner rather than later. In regions where the update is available, A03 Core users should get the update when notified or by opening the Settings app on their phones, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” For manual updates over a Windows PC, users can download the official firmware files from our website.
