Forget the Ultra, Samsung may be working on a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim

Here’s something that has come completely out of left field: Samsung is reportedly making a slimmer version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 for a launch in the last quarter (October-December) of the year.
We have known about a possible Ultra version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 for some time now, but this is the first time we’re hearing about a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim. This information comes from industry insider and analyst Ross Young, who revealed that this Slim variant may have a larger display than the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 and might lack S Pen support.

Young didn’t go into more specifics, other than saying that they will reveal the dimensions of the device’s foldable and covery displays in an upcoming report. But we can assume that this Z Fold 6 Slim may be Samsung’s answer to competing foldables from Chinese manufacturers, many of which have larger foldable screens and are considerably thinner than Samsung’s offerings.
It’s unclear what a Slim model means for the Z Fold 6 Ultra. According to Young, the Slim model could be priced similar to the regular Galaxy Z Fold 6, so there should be room for an Ultra model in the lineup and customers may have three different Galaxy Z Fold 6 models to choose from by the end of the year.
However, it remains to be seen if that choice will be available for all consumers. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra is currently expected to launch only in Samsung’s home country, and the same could end up being true for the Slim model, at least if such a model exists.
Young has a great track record with rumors about Samsung’s upcoming devices, but with this being the first time we’re hearing about the Z Fold 6 Slim, we will remain skeptical until more information comes our way.
