Qualcomm is expected to announce the Snapdragon 875 chipset next month and one leakster on Weibo said he saw a prototype of the new platform. According to Digital Chat Station, the 5 nm chip will have the CPU with one core at 2.84 GHz, three at 2.42 GHz, and the last four – at 1.8 GHz.
The main core of the CPU isn’t revealed what type it is – early assumptions suggest a super core Cortex-X1 that will bring 23% better performance of the Cortex-A78 at its peak. The next three are Cortex-A78, the final four are said to be Cortex-A55.
This configuration might look a lot similar to the Snapdragon 865, but the difference will come from the new Adreno 660 GPU, the leakster revealed. The cache and memory bandwidth will be improved and the new Qualcomm platform will provide better low-power consumption, bringing the battery life to greater lengths.
Snapdragon 875 is expected to be among the fastest chipsets on the market and the leakster shared his expectations are the chip will be ahead of the others (that would be Kirin 9000 and Exynos 2100). There are four weeks until the official launch in Hawaii, US – a lot of time for more rumors, leaks, and even some teasers that will paint a brighter picture.
