Final Fantasy XIV gets Nier: Automata raid this month on PC

Final Fantasy XIV is an incredibly popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) from Square Enix. The game has received numerous crossovers in the past, but the latest one may take the cake. Today, the developer released the gameplay trailer for Patch 5.1 which features Nier: Automata-themed content like a raid. It’s launching on October 29 so you won’t have to wait too long.

The trailer for Patch 5.1, which is titled “Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty,” also provides a glimpse at many of the new adventures and areas that await players in the first major update following the release of the Shadowbringers expansion. The new 24-player Alliance Raid is called “The Copied Factory” and features Yosuke Saito and Yoko Taro as guest creators. Since it’s Nier-themed, players will battle machine lifeforms as they explore a new dungeon inspired by the game.

Some of the other main features are listed below that are part of Patch 5.1.

  • New Game+ mode
  • New dungeon called “The Grand Cosmos”
  • New competitive Frontline map called “Onsal Hakair”
