Exynos-powered Galaxy S20 series now getting June security update

The month has barely started, yet Samsung has already released the latest security update to a number of devices around the world. That includes the company’s 2020 flagship series – the Galaxy S20 lineup was updated with the June security patch in the US just yesterday, and a similar update is now rolling out to the S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra internationally. The Galaxy S20 series — both LTE and 5G variants — is getting an update with firmware version G98xFXXS2ATE7 in more than 21 European markets. The new firmware brings only security fixes for the month of June. That’s not surprising, as it was only two weeks ago that Samsung released an update that brought new features and improvements, including a new pseudo-macro mode for the Galaxy S20 Ultra camera and the option to turn off the fingerprint ripple effect animation. The latest Galaxy S20 update should go live in more markets as the week goes on; our firmware archive is your best source for checking if the update has been released in your country. You can also download firmware for your Galaxy S20, S20+, or S20+ from our archive if you wish to update your phone manually, though we would recommend first trying to download it over-the-air. You can do that by selecting Download and install from the phone’s Settings » Software update menu.
