Even the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is likely going to be more expensive
It seems that Samsung will be implementing price hikes across the board for its upcoming products. Amid reports that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is going to cost more than its predecessor, some information has surfaced which suggests a similar fate for the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The Galaxy Z Fold series already happens to include the most expensive phones that Samsung sells. Many have been hoping that Samsung gradually brings the price of its top-of-the-line foldable smartphone down. That may not happen this year.
Would you pay more for the Galaxy Z Fold 4?
A retailer in Europe has listed the expected prices for the Galaxy Z Fold 4. It lists 1,863 and 1,981 euro for the 256GB and 512GB variants respectively. It’s likely that these are placeholders and the final prices may actually be 1,849 and 1,999 euro respectively.
This would represent a 50 and 100 euro increase over the 256GB and 512GB Galaxy Z Fold 3 models that are priced at 1,799 and 1,899 respectively. We’ve exclusively reported that a 1TB Galaxy Z Fold 4 model will be available as well. At this rate, it may cost well over 2,000 euro.
It’s quite possible that these price hikes may not be limited to Europe only. Samsung may also charge more money for its new foldable smartphone in other markets across the globe. Perhaps the company feels that slightly raising the prices this year isn’t going to have a major impact on sales.
Samsung announced recently that it shipped over 10 million foldable smartphones last year. The price cuts implemented for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 surely played a major role.
With the foldables having made significant inroads in the market now, a lot more customers may be fine with paying the higher prices. Speaking of higher prices, an earlier report has also suggested that the new Galaxy Watch 5 models will cost more than the Galaxy Watch 4.
