Elden Ring preloads are now live for Xbox players
FromSoftware’s upcoming open world RPG adventure game Elden Ring is only a week and a half away from launching, and ahead of the game’s release, Elden Ring has become available to preload on both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. As long as you’ve preordered Elden Ring, you’ll be able to begin downloading and installing the game from its page on the Xbox storefront. Fans who purchase the game now will automatically be prompted to begin the preload process.
In terms of file size, Elden Ring is about 49GB, which isn’t too bad for a modern AAA release. With a relatively moderate file size like this, most gamers should have no problem fitting Elden Ring on their hard drives. Note that it’s unclear whether or not this preload includes any day one patches that FromSoftware may deploy, so you may still need to download a small patch on launch day before you can play the game.
Elden Ring is expected to release Feb. 25, 2022 on Xbox Series X, Xbox One systems, PS5, PS4, and PC. The game is FromSoftware’s latest action RPG that features many systems Dark Souls fans will be familiar with, such as character building, dodge rolling, different types of weapons, armors, and spells, and deadly combat systems that will test your skill and resolve. Unlike FromSoftware’s previous titles, Elden Ring is also open world, and the game will have a strong focus on exploration as a result.
