Doom Eternal and 64 launch on all platforms

Doom Eternal is a first-person shooter that continues the story of the reboot. It looks absolutely spectacular on Xbox One X and should provide plenty of single-player and multiplayer enjoyment. In addition to Xbox One, Doom Eternal should be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. It was also announced for Google Stadia a few months ago.

Doom 64 was a preorder bonus for Doom Eternal, but it’s available separately on the Microsoft Store for $5. It’s great to see that people don’t have to buy a $60 game if they don’t want to to get a $5 title. Doom 64 also looks great on Xbox One X and features crisp visuals and menus.
In Windows Central’s Doom Eternal review, Jez Corden wrote, “Doom Eternal is a near-perfect follow up to 2016’s sensational reboot of the legendary shooter franchise. The improvements that are good are really good, but some of the new stuff sadly doesn’t land very well.”

In Windows Central’s Doom 64 review, I said, “Overall, Doom 64 is a memorable game that one can look fondly at years later. It’s a great addition to Doom Eternal, and if you finish the campaign of the upcoming shooter, you should give this one a go. However, don’t expect modernized controls or other improvements. It’s the same game with the same quirks.”
