Why countries still practice this remains unknown, as people claim it’s “tradition”, so the rest of us have to deal with it. Luckily, technology has made it much easier for us. Unlike previous generations, we don’t need to manually reset our clocks (unless you use a traditional clock) to adjust for Daylight Savings Time. Daylight Savings Time is common in North America, Europe, parts of Asia, South America, and Oceania. In the spring/summer, clocks move one hour forward to give people more daylight during the warmer months. In fall/winter, those clocks revert back and give us fewer hours of daylight. Those of us who remember what life was like before our lives became fully inundated with technology remember the multiple news alerts on the television reminding us to change our clocks. While it wasn’t going to ruin your life, it could be potentially extremely annoying operating an hour ahead or behind. Imagine if you had a meeting and came an hour early or late.

Thankfully, all smartphones can help us out with that. iOS 16 automatically changes Daylight Savings Time for us, so when it hits a certain time, your smartphone will actually repeat an hour. When it hits 2 AM on November 6, for example, it’ll adjust accordingly. So you don’t need to worry about having to tinker with any settings. However, if, for some reason, you think that your iOS device isn’t automatically changing the time, you can follow these steps:
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to General and navigate to Date & Time.
- Toggle the Set Automatically option.
- Your timezone will change according to your geolocation and Daylight Savings Time.

Easily Delete Contacts
In previous iOS versions, it was absolute hell trying to mass delete contacts. You would have to click on the contact, scroll down to the bottom, then press delete. Anyone who’s used Apple’s diction service knows that it comes with quite a few errors, especially if you’re in an environment like a car going down the highway. Some background sounds can confuse the AI and produce typos or general mistakes. Someone could tell if you were using diction based on the grammar, sentence structure, and, most importantly, the lack of Emojis. Now, you can speak out what Emoji you want to text. For example, say “smiling Emoji” and it’ll input the appropriate one for you so that you can have some life in your texts when you use dictate.
Remove Duplicate Photos
Apple made a lot of changes to the Photos app, and removing duplicate photos is one of them. If you’re not extremely organized, then your Photo album probably has a bunch of one-off screenshots, duplicate photos, random videos, and stupid memes that you’ll never look at again. We encourage you to go through your Photo albums and perform a deep clean to save some space, but Apple’s made it a bit easier for you. If you scroll down to the bottom of your Photos app, next to your Recently Deleted folder you’ll find a folder called Duplicates. Click on that , and you can review how much space these duplicates were taking up. Then, you have the option to select all and remove them easily.
