Did this Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 leak confirm a big feature cut?

There have been a few leaks concerning the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 over the past few weeks. Nothing substantial has emerged so far, however, we have seen some renders of both devices already. It’s clear to everyone that the new foldables come with big design changes.

There’s been a major leak today which gives us a good look at both of the foldable smartphones. It also raises some confusion about one of the big new features that Samsung was expected to introduce with the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Big Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 leak surfaces

Published online by @evleaks, this leaked render of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 reveals two things. Firstly, it’s consistent with the design we have seen in the renders leaked previously. So there’s a good chance now that what we see here is what we’ll get.

Multiple reports have suggested that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will come with UPC. What that means is that the selfie camera on the foldable display will be placed under the actual display panel. This would enable the device to be completely notchless with very slim bezels. Images leaked several weeks ago appeared to show the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s Under Panel Camera.

If you look closely at this render, you’ll notice that it doesn’t seem to have a UPC. It appears to be a standard punch hole setup. It could be that the render is merely just showing where the UPC will be located and how it will look when the camera is enabled. The Under Panel Camera otherwise stays hidden at all times.

The other possibility is that the earlier whispers about the Galaxy Z Fold 3 featuring UPC were incorrect. That could very well be true as we won’t know for sure until the device leaks on video or it ends up being officially unveiled. No surprises here for the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The design is exactly what other leaked images have revealed.

Samsung is due to unveil the new foldable smartphones in August. Rumors suggest that the company will likely release it on August 27.
