Dev Channel Insiders, the Windows 11 Paint app just got better
Dev Channel Insiders, good news: Windows 11‘s Paint app is getting an update that’s rolling out right now. Don’t expect it to reinvent the existing app, but it will help it in a few key areas.
First, it will bring the “Edit Color” and “Resize and Skew” options, along with a few other tools and text boxes, in line with the style of Windows 11 and unify the overall design aesthetic. Microsoft’s blog post on the subject also contains a few key additional improvements the Paint team has made to the app, which include the following:
- Shift-click on a color swatch will now select that color as your secondary color.
- Fixed an issue where text boxes would move unexpectedly when using IME.
- Fixed an issue where some dialogs were not properly localized in Hebrew, Dutch, Norwegian, and other languages.
- Improved support for screen readers.
And if it doesn’t make your life better, let Microsoft know. In the company’s blog post on the Paint update, it also asks for you to sound off in the Feedback Hub with thoughts and suggestions. Microsoft even says it “loves” receiving feedback, so by all means, go for it.
