Destiny 2: Bungie announces the return of Trials of Osiris

Following the completion of the Empyrean Foundation restoration by the Destiny community, developer Bungie announced the return of the famous Trials of Osiris player-versus-player (PvP) activity as part of Destiny 2’s next season, Season of the Worthy. As of now, Trials of Osiris is set to launch on March 13.

Trials of Osiris is a very competitive mode that will offer strong incentives to win multiple matches in succession, such as new armor and weapon rewards as well as cosmetics. If you go on a flawless streak to the top of the game mode, those armors and weapons will even light up in a unique way that signifies your victories during that week.

Season of the Worthy, the season that Trials of Osiris will launch concurrently with, is also bringing a large sandbox overhaul update that will no doubt fix many of the issues that PvP fans have with the balance of Destiny 2 right now. This is great, as Trials of Osiris won’t be very fun if there are massively overpowered weapons and abilities ruining it. In addition to this, Season of the Worthy is also bringing three maps from the original Destiny to Destiny 2: Cauldron, Exodus Blue, and Anomaly. These will be playable in Trials of Osiris, and presumably in other Crucible modes as well.

Destiny 2 is free-to-play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Access to the season pass for Season of the Worthy will likely cost $10 since that’s what the pass for the Season of Dawn cost. Shadowkeep, the latest expansion to Destiny 2, is available for $35 on all platforms.
