Dell launched an expanded range of AMD-powered PCs today. The refreshed Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R14 runs on a Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor and is the first consumer device to do so, according to Dell. The company also launched its Alienware m15 R7 and Alienware m17 R5, which were initially announced at CES 2022. On the non-Alienware side of things, Dell started shipping the G15 Ryzen Edition gaming laptop today as well.

The new gaming laptops run on AMD’s new Ryzen 6000-series CPUs. The Aurora Ryzen Edition R14 is powered by the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

In addition to a new processor, the Aurora Ryzen Edition R14 has been refreshed with a new cooling system, which is said to provide a 42% improvement in thermal resistance when compared to a standard liquid cooler. The gaming desktop also features AMD 3D V-Cache technology to deliver better framerates for the best PC games.

The Alienware m15 R7 is a 15-inch gaming laptop. Its 170W TDP is the highest wattage of any Alienware 15-inch laptop to date.

The Alienware m17 R5 pairs the latest AMD Ryzen chips with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series graphics. The large laptop is available with up to a Ryzen 9 6980HX and AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT. An AMD advantage edition of the m17 R5 will start shipping later this spring.

While not as premium as its Alienware cousins, the Dell G15 looks to compete with the best budget gaming laptops. It has a starting price of $850 and has configurations starting at a Ryzen 5 6600H paired with an NVIDIA RTX 3050.
