Dell confirms Intel’s 11th Gen chips are coming to the XPS 13 line

As one of Dell’s flagship laptop lines, it was pretty much a given that the XPS 13 and XPS 13 2-in-1 would see an upgrade to Intel’s new 11th Gen Tiger Lake CPUs that debuted today. However, Dell didn’t have any announcements saying as much prepared following the event today. But if you were watching closely, you probably noticed the XPS 13 made a quick appearance during Intel’s presentation.

Dell has since confirmed that the XPS 13 and XPS 13 2-in-1 will indeed see an upgrade to Intel’s 11th Gen chips “soon.” Beyond that, they’ll also be among the first to be certified as part of Intel’s Evo program, the new name for the Project Athena innovation program. That essentially means you’re guaranteed to get pretty good battery life, fast charging, and a premium experience from both XPS 13 devices.

Other than a general “soon,” Dell hasn’t provided a specific timeline for the launch of new XPS 13 PCs. Likewise, no pricing information is available just yet. However, as a baseline, the current XPS 13 starts at $1,000, so that’s likely in the ballpark of what we’ll see.

In the meantime, the current XPS 13 is among the best Ultrabooks you can get your hands on — if you’re in the market for a new PC, that is.
