Death Stranding PC Steam preorder live, skirting Epic exclusivity

Death Stranding has made its PlayStation 4 debut, marking Hideo Kojima’s first project since his Konami split. From the now-independent Kojima Productions, Death Stranding has drawn eyes via its eccentric concepts, with an A-list cast headlined by Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen. And although currently exclusive to Sony’s home console, the studio has also outlined PC plans for mid-2020.

Death Stranding PC preorders have kicked off just mere hours after its PS4 launch, starting at $60. Preorders are accepted via Steam and Epic Games Store listings, both on track for “Summer 2020” availability. The previously announced deal with 505 Games sees the publisher handle PC distribution, also set to embrace Steam Achievements and 20 languages. PC system requirements and a firm launch date are yet to be detailed.

From its cryptic setup to the all-star cast, Death Stranding is poised to be a stimulating narrative adventure. Kojima Productions debut title hits PC during summer 2020.

The Steam listing also indicates Death Stranding won’t see Epic Games Store exclusivity, amid countless titles cooking up deals with the marketplace. Metro Exodus, Borderlands 3, and Control are among the many ditching Steam in 2019, proving polarizing among PC gamers. And with former PlayStation exclusives from Quantic Dream similarly tied down, the move will please those at home with Valve’s digital storefront.

In the meantime, Death Stranding is now available on PlayStation 4, priced at $60 on Amazon.
