Check out a UE5 technical demo from Gears developer The Coalition
The Coalition, developer of the Gears of War franchise, shared its GDC 2021 demo to the public today. This demo, referred to as “Alpha Point,” is not a game or indicative of anything related to a game The Coalition is working on right now. Instead, it was designed to help the studio understand just how Unreal Engine 5 runs on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
If you’re interested in the full presentation, with in-depth developer-focused talk on the studio’s work with Unreal Engine 5, you can watch the entire thing. Otherwise, you can check out the technical demo specifically below.
You can also take a look at some character renders:
Recent reports indicate that The Coalition may be working on a new IP but if so, it won’t be directly related to anything shown in these demonstrations. Instead, these are technical learnings that’ll help the studio produce better work in the future.

The media remotes to get for your new Xbox Series X or Series S
The new Xbox Series X and Series S aren’t quite the home entertainment giants their predecessor was, but they’re still very good with access to all the top digital streaming media services. And that means you’re going to be doing more than just gaming, and for that you need a good remote. It’s a better way to go than a controller for sure.
