Change.org petition asks Apple to allow Project xCloud on iOS

Yesterday, Microsoft revealed that it was abandoning plans for Project xCloud on iOS because of Apple’s restrictive policies concerning gaming apps. Apple hit back by saying that it can’t allow those games because they can’t review them all. This is a bizarre excuse since the Entertainment Software Rating Board rates them before they’re published, so it’s not like titles are being sneaked in without permission.

If you want Apple to allow Project xCloud on iOS, you should sign this Change.org petition. Hopefully, if it gets enough signatures, Apple will ease its restrictions. Right now, the game streaming service Shadow is already available on iOS, but since it emulates an entire PC, it’s allowed as a virtual desktop.

Starting in September, Project xCloud will be part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The service bundles Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass for PC, Xbox Live Gold, and cloud game streaming into one package. Better yet, you should be able to play all your Xbox Game Pass games on there too! Again, keep in mind that Change.org petitions for this sort of thing rarely seem to produce results, but it can’t hurt to try.
