Carrier-locked Galaxy S22 gets April 2022 security update in the US

Two weeks ago, Samsung started rolling out the April 2022 security update to the Galaxy S22 series. However, the update was limited to phones in Asia and Europe. Now, the update has been released to the carrier-locked Galaxy S22 units in the US.

The latest software update for the carrier-locked units of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra has been released with firmware version S906USQU1AVCJ. It includes the April 2022 security patch that fixes 88 privacy and security vulnerabilities. It also brings general bug fixes and stability improvements.

If you are a Galaxy S22 user in the US and if you have a carrier-locked unit, you can now check for the latest software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series earlier this year with Android 12-based One UI 4.1 software. The phones received a major bug fixing update that also offered the option to turn off GOS (Game Optimization Service) for faster performance in games.
