Call of Duty: Warzone is getting anti-cheat later this year
Call of Duty: Vanguard was fully revealed on Thursday. During our preview for Call of Duty: Vanguard, we learned that developer Raven Software is continuing to head up the free-to-play Warzone mode, with a new map and a dedicated anti-cheat system in development.
Warzone is extremely popular, first kicking off after the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2019. The game has continued to struggle with hackers and cheaters however, with tens of thousands of accounts banned at a time as the community asked for a dedicated anti-cheat solution.
This news comes as Actvision Blizzard is facing a lawsuit from the State of California, following a multi-year investigation. The lawsuit alleges the company allowed systemic sexist workplace behavior and instances of abuse.
With a campaign and multiplayer led by Sledgehammer Games, the game is heading back to World War II, telling the fictional birth of special forces. Meanwhile, developer Treyarch returns to work on Zombies mode. Call of Duty: Vanguard is currently slated to launch on Nov. 5 for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC.
