Every year, Activision releases a new Call of Duty game and fans of the franchise love it. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 revives the fan-favorite series, fully embracing its multiplayer success, while exploring new online modes such as “Zombies.” A battle royale mode called “Blackout” is also part of the package.

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is quite popular even after all these months, the battle royale mode hasn’t been able to dethrone games like Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds . Today, Activision announced that it’s giving players a free trial of the Blackout mode.
A report by Charlie Intel said the free frial will be available on Xbox One and other platforms from January 17 through January 24, 2019. The trial will be available to download from each platform’s respective store closer to the start date. This is the first free trial for the mode since the game’s launch in October. Are you interested in playing Blackout? Let us know.

There are also rumors floating around that Blackout may be going free-to-play soon. However, as with any such alleged leak, take it with a grain of salt until we receive official conformation. Keep in mind that there is no free trial for the regular multiplayer modes or Zombies. If you don’t want to play battle royale, then this is not the trial for you. Even though Blackout is probably the best battle royale experience out there, it’s surprising that it hasn’t caught on to a greater degree. The fact that it’s coupled to a $59.99 game might be the reason.
