Bungie may be showcasing Destiny 2: The Witch Queen on August 24

In a new official Tweet, Destiny 2 developer Bungie is teasing a Destiny 2 showcase livestream that’s coming on August 24, 2021. The accompanying image features a symbol that has previously been associated with the Hive leader Savathun, who is assumed to be the primary antagonist of the upcoming The Witch Queen expansion coming in early 2022. Additionally, the image is also paired with the phrase “Survive the Truth,” suggesting that there will be some sort of sinnister story twist.

Overall, it’s likely that the showcase will focus heavily on the DLC’s gameplay content and narrative direction. Considering the fact that Destiny 2’s storytelling has improved dramatically in recent seasons, it’s exciting to think about what the future holds. The core gameplay loop of Destiny 2 has largely been very satisfying as well, so we’re looking forward to what Bungie has in store.
