Bungie details free-to-play Destiny 2: New Light content
Destiny 2 is a first-person shooter from Bungie, the original developer of titles like Halo and Marathon. On October 1, the latest expansion for the game, called Shadowkeep, is launching on Xbox One and other platforms. However, the base game is also going free-to-play in order to get more players.
This version of Destiny 2 won’t have the Shadowkeep expansion, but it will contain pretty much everything else. Bungie tweeted an infographic of everything players can expect. Surprisingly, there’s a lot in the game and it’ll keep you busy for hundreds of hours in my opinion.
Down the line, if you want to purchase Shadowkeep and play the content, you can do so. Going forward, each season of the expansion will be priced at $10 and will come with an Artifact of Power. This means that you can keep on leveling up until the season resets in a few months. This is a great way to keep players hooked because the quest to become even more powerful is quite addictive.
You can preorder the Shadowkeep expansion through the Microsoft Store for $35. Hopefully, the expansion will provide a meaningful story because before Forsaken, the last major expansion, everything was quite bland.
