BREAKING: Samsung officially announces One UI 5.0 beta launch

Even though Samsung has already started rolling out the One UI 5.0 beta firmware, the company has now officially announced the launch of its much-awaited beta program. Samsung has confirmed that the beta program will initially be available for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The company will eventually expand the beta program to more devices. It will also be rolled out in more regions across the globe. So there’s going to be a bit of a wait, but you should be able to try the beta soon enough.

One UI 5.0 beta program is now officially open

Samsung initially launched the One UI 5.0 beta program in the United States, Germany, and South Korea. The first beta firmware is now available for download. The company has confirmed that it will be rolled out in other markets. Expect major markets across Europe to be supported.

One UI 5.0 is heavy on cosmetic changes with up to 16 new preset color themes and 12 additional color options for UI elements like icons and quick panels. Widget stacking will enable users to stack widgets of the same size on a single location to save space. Notifications have been improved as well. It’s now easier to block notifications from certain apps.

For the first time, Galaxy device owners can select their preferred language for different apps with One UI 5.0. This is great for multi-lingual people who can choose exactly which language an app should use through the Settings menu.
