BREAKING: Galaxy S21 series One UI 4.0 update now rolling out globally!

Today is a big day for fans of firmware updates and Android 12 enthusiasts, as One UI 4.0 is leaving the beta program behind to roll out live for the Galaxy S21 series worldwide.

The beta program began in mid-September for the Galaxy S21 lineup in select markets and consisted of a few waves. Samsung aimed for a 2021 release for the first public build and hinted at a November release — something it just achieved.

Of course, the anticipated Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update isn’t rolling out everywhere simultaneously, but it will gradually reach more regions in the upcoming days and weeks. So, if you are waiting for the update to arrive, be patient, and sooner or later, you’ll get that notification. We also host the files on our website, so feel free to check our firmware section regularly.

For now, One UI 4.0 is available only for the Galaxy S21, the Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but this exclusivity won’t last for long. Dozens of other Galaxy smartphones and tablets that are eligible for the update will follow, but it’s going to be a relatively lengthy process. Some devices will get priority over others, and no concrete roadmap exists yet. We will keep you up to speed as soon as we find out more.

A quick overview of some of the most interesting One UI 4.0 features

We had discussed all the new changes and features in One UI 4.0, big and small, shortly after the first beta build went live, and we counted over 60. Likewise, we covered our top 5 features in One UI 4.0, so make sure to check our videos below if you’re looking for a quick overview of the new firmware while you wait for your Galaxy S21 to update.

One UI 4.0 is based on Android 12, which means it borrows a few fundamental ideas from Google’s latest update. The new Color Theme option takes from Material You and opens up new personalization options, but there are numerous other changes and refinements throughout the UI.

Samsung added new privacy and security features that give users more control over app privileges, and all the settings and controls are now neatly organized in a new privacy dashboard.

Let us know if you got the update, and feel free to tell us more about your favorite One UI 4.0 features in the comment section below and our social media channels.
