BREAKING: Galaxy A50 starts getting Android 11 update

After releasing the Android 11 update to its high-end and various mid-range smartphones, Samsung has started rolling out the Android 11 update to the Galaxy A50. The update also brings along the March 2021 security patch to the smartphone. We are still not sure if it is a One UI 3.0 or One UI 3.1 update.

The new software update for the Galaxy A50, which bears firmware version A505FDDU7CUBC, has a download size of 1,871.38MB. Apart from the refreshed UI design, the update also improves the performance of the Galaxy A50. The Android 11 update brings a dedicated conversations section in the notification area, a media player widget in the quick settings panel, chat bubbles, one-time permissions, permissions auto reset, and easier smart device controls to the phone.

Other features include improved Dynamic Lock screen, more lock screen widgets and AoD options, video backgrounds for calls, more options in Bixby Routines, improved Digital Wellbeing and Parental Controls, double-tap gesture to turn off the screen, improved camera autofocus performance, and improved stock apps.

It should be a staged software update rollout, which means not everyone will get the update at the same time. If you haven’t received the update yet, you can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and then tapping on Download and install on your Galaxy A50.
