Best ways to get experience in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary on PC
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary has arrived on the PC platform as part of The Master Chief Collection, and with it came a brand new game to play to level up and unlock armor pieces for Halo: Reach (Combat Evolved doesn’t have customizable armor). On top of this, recent changes made to The Master Chief Collection have also made it possible to earn significantly more experience in multiplayer matches than you could before. Here are the three best ways you can take advantage of those new opportunities while playing Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.
When using a vehicle like the Scorpion or the Warthog, you’ll want to always stay moving in it since players will be able to snipe you out easily if you stay still. When you have a power weapon like the Rocket Launcher, Fuel Rod Gun, or Sniper Rifle, try to stay hidden and then surprise large groups of players. Ambushing vehicles headed towards your team is also a great play to make.
Stick with and assist your teammates
Another way that working with your team helps you get experience comes with the increased chance of surviving engagements with the other team. There’s strength in numbers, and while you don’t get any experience for simply surviving, being alive does mean you’ll have more opportunities to assist teammates and kill enemies. You can’t earn medals if you’re stuck in the respawn screen all of the time, so living longer will only help you.
Focus on the objective
When playing Capture The Flag, you can get lots of experience for either capturing flags yourself or defending your own from assailants. Killing enemies trying to kill your flag carrier will also get you some extra medals as well. In King of the Hill, it’s best to either stay in the hill yourself and capture it or stick close to the outside of it and attack enemy players trying to take hold of it from your team. Finally, in Oddball, you’ll want to make sure that you hold the Oddball whenever you can to accumulate points for your team. If you can’t, defending your team’s Oddball carrier or killing the other team’s is the next best way to play the objective.
