Best Amazon Prime Day deals: don’t miss these final discounts on top tech like laptops, TVs, gaming, and more

Refresh

Sony WH-1000XM5

(Image credit: Sony / Windows Central)

I’m usually not one to spend a small fortune on headphones, but I finally broke down earlier this year with Sony’s WH-1000XM5. I wanted a great set of noise-cancelling headphones for long workdays, and the XM5s have delivered like crazy. For just over $50 off, these are a great buy through Amazon’s Prime Early Access sale.

The XM5s offer probably the best noise cancellation you can get your hands on in a set of headphones. What’s more, they can be connected to two devices at once with automatic switching back and forth. This is great for stayting connected to your PC during the workday but still being able to quickly take a call with a low barrier.

The touch controls are responsive, there’s Google Assistant support on board, and the sound quality is seriously amazing. Do yourself a favor if you have the cash to burn and pick these up while they’re on sale.

LG C1 Series 55-inch OLED TV

The LG C1 OLED is one of the best TVs you can get your hands on. For Xbox Series X|S and PS5 owners, it also happens to be perhaps the best pick when it comes to features for your console as well. And now, you can save just over $1,000 on one through Amazon’s Prime Early Access sale.

The LG C1 OLED packs everything you need to take advantage of the latest generation of consoles. You’ve got 120Hz support, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, variable refresh rate, and a low latency mode for gaming. That’s combined with a gorgeous OLED screen that makes movies, TV shows, and, yes, games look amazing.

The $1,000 discount is available for the 65-inch model, which gives you a ton of screen real estate for your whole library, and even a ton of the latest Game Pass games.

Logitech StreamCam

(Image credit: Daniel Thorp-Lancaster / Windows Central)

Logitech is a household name for a reason. The company has been making great computer accessories for years, and they’re virtually the default decision when it comes to webcams. With the Amazon Prime Early Access sale, you can get your hands on one of Logitech’s best: the StreamCam.

The Logitech StreamCam comes with a suite of cool features aimed right at content creators. You’ve got a 1080p HD resolution at 60 FPS, great autofocus, and a subtle, fabric-y look that works great for blending in. Moreover, it comes with a tripod mount on the bottom for those times you may want to set it up somewhere other than the top of your monitor.

With Logitech’s accompanying software, you can easily adjust the StreamCam’s settings to make yourself look great in different lighting conditions as well. There’s even an auto-framing feature that will move the feed with you to make sure you’re always in the center of the frame.

For $130 instead of its usual $170 price tag, this is an easy buy if you’ve been meaning to upgrade your webcam.

GameSir X2 Controller

(Image credit: Jez Corden | Windows Central)

Xbox Cloud Gaming is taking off, and many people are jumping on board for gaming on the go with just a phone. But a phone’s small display gets smaller when you have to use on-screen controls, and holding a slim phone isn’t exactly comfortable. That’s where the GameSir X2 Pro comes in.

The GameSir X2 Pro attaches to your Android phone and provides Xbox-licensed dedicated controls, turning your device into something like a Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck. Along with the controls you already know from Xbox gaming, it has a heatsink integrated with the clamp to keep your phone cool.

It’s currently 20% off during Amazon’s Prime Early Access sale, bringing the total price down to $64. It’s available in White and Black colors.

Razer Blackshark V2

Razer makes a ton of high-quality PC and console accessories, with a bevy of mice, keyboards, headsets, and more to offer. The BlackShark V2 represents a renewal of an older brand, made modern with 50mm TriForce titanium drivers, compatibility with PC and console, and a unidirectional microphone that delivers clear audio to your friends. It’s super lightweight, it’s comfortable even during long play sessions, and the THX spatial audio adds that extra layer for supported games.

Razer gear doesn’t usually come cheap, as they seem to know how good their lineup really is. The BlackShark V2 regularly costs about $100, but it’s been knocked down to just $66.49 for the next couple of days. Pick one up if you’ve been meaning to upgrade your audio experience.

Zotac Gaming GTX 1660 Super

The last couple years have been extremely hard on anyone trying to navigate the GPU market, with prices through the roof and stock anywhere but on the shelves. That’s all changed in recent months as the value of cryptocurrency fell drastically, and many PC gamers are now able to get their hands on one of the most important parts of their build.

If you’re looking for a GPU that can handle 1080p gaming at or above 60FPS with modern titles, the GTX 1660 Super is likely going to be the best option for the asking price. Zotac’s version of the GTX 1660 Super has a dual-fan cooling setup, 1,785MHz clock speed, and takes up two expansion slots. It’s ideal for more compact builds that don’t have a ton of room.

Regularly priced at $290, it’s down to $200 at Amazon during the Prime Early Access sale. That’s the lowest price we’ve ever seen at Amazon.

Dell Inspiron lineup 2022

Inspiron is Dell’s more affordable alternative to the XPS lineup, and while there are some XPS laptops on sale during Amazon’s Prime Early Access event, this might be the best deal I’ve seen so far.

The Inspiron 14 5420 has a slim build but holds onto plenty of ports, including dual Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, USB-A, and an SD card reader. The keyboard stretches from side to side, and there’s a sizable touchpad below. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 are on board for wireless connectivity.

Whereas a lot of affordable laptops cheap out on the display, the 5420 has a 14-inch screen with 16:10 aspect ratio, 2240×1400 (2.2K) resolution, about 300 nits brightness, and anti-glare finish. As for performance hardware, it’s sporting a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U CPU with 10 cores, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. Regularly priced at $800, you can pick it up right now for $680.

Dell 24.5-inch gaming monitor

There have been some tasty GPU and gaming PC deals already flying by today, and we know that some of you are no doubt looking for a new high-performance gaming monitor to accompany the new performance hardware. If you’re looking to focus more on refresh rate than size, Dell’s 24.5-inch S2522HG monitor might be the ticket.

This monitor boasts a 240Hz refresh rate for its 1080p panel, as well as a 1ms GtG response time. Those are some great specs to pair up with a new GPU, and the addition of NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium means you don’t have to choose a specific card for the extra reduction in screen tearing and stuttering. Regularly priced at $300, this monitor is currently down to $200 at Amazon.

Lenovo Yoga 7i 14 and 16 (Gen 7)

Lenovo’s Yoga 9i 14 (Gen 7) is our top pick when it comes to the best Windows laptops, but it’s extremely expensive and has a lot of features that not everyone needs to pay for. Lenovo also offers a mid-range alternative known as the Yoga 7i 14 (Gen 7), with an excellent build quality and strong performance in its own right.

The Yoga 7i 14 (Gen 7) has rounded edges, huge touchpad, comfy keyboard, quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, high-res touch display with Dolby Vision, and FHD camera with IR for facial recognition. It’s powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1255U CPU, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a 512GB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, and Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics. The 14-inch touch display has a 2240×1400 (2.2K) resolution and 100% sRGB color.

Regularly priced at $1,420, Lenovo has cut off about $395 to bring the total price down to $1,025. This is a great option if you’ve been waiting to get your hands on a modern convertible PC with excellent specs and features.

Dell XPS 13 Plus (9320) for 2022

Dell is hosting its own two-day sales event while Amazon has its Prime Early Access sale, and those looking to get their hands on an XPS laptop should definitely check it out. One deal that caught our attention is on the XPS 13 Plus (9320), which is Dell’s most premium 13-inch laptop.

What makes it so great? The 13.4-inch FHD+ display has a 60Hz refresh rate and excellent color reproduction and contrast, the keyboard, haptic touchpad, and speakers are all top-tier, and it has one of the best designs currently on the market.

This specific model has a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1260P CPU, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a 512GB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD, and Intel’s integrated Iris Xe graphics. Instead of the regular (and fairly steep) $1,699 price, this XPS 13 Plus is down to $1,349. That’s a much more reasonable cost that puts it in line with a lot of lesser laptops that Dell has to offer.

Samsung 980 Pro

Samsung’s 980 Pro is one of the best M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSDs you can buy right now in terms of durability and performance, but these drives generally cost more than competing SSDs that come very close to measuring up.

That’s all changed thanks to Amazon’s Prime Early Access sale, which has the 2TB version of the 980 Pro down to just $190. That’s 50% off the regular $380 price tag. The M.2 SSD is capable of hitting read speeds up to 7,000MB/s and write speeds up to 5,000 MB/s, plus its endurance is rated at 1,200 TBW with a five-year warranty. Whether you’re building a new PC or upgrading an older one (with PCIe 4.0 capabilities), this drive will change your life.

HP Omen 40L

Amazon might have a lot of the focus today, but a bunch of other major retailers are also hosting flash sales. Best Buy in particular has a bunch of great deals on gaming laptops and PCs from major manufacturers. The HP Omen 40L caught our eye in part thanks to the huge discount and in part thanks to the hefty amount of performance hardware inside.

This model, which is regularly priced at $1,450, is down to just $1,050. It has inside a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12400F CPU, 16GB of HyperX DDR4 RAM, a 1TB M.2 PCIe SSD, and a NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics card for excellent upper mid-range performance. It’s all contained in a sleek 40L tower with RGB lighting and decent airflow. Considering last year you were paying this much or more for the GPU alone, a whole gaming PC for just more than $1,000 is a great deal.

AmazonBasics 6-outlet surge protector

Amazon’s Prime Early Access event is full of high-profile tech items on sale for hundreds of dollars off the regular price, but let’s not forget about the small accessories that can make a huge difference. One of our colleagues fried some tech in his office over the weekend, and we don’t want you to do the same.

This six-outlet surge protector power bar is the key, at least as long as you don’t need more than 1,000 joules of suppression. The power strip has six regular outlets as well as two USB-A ports to charge accessories. It’s regularly priced at about $17, but it’s currently down to less than $12.

LG gram 16Z90Q

LG’s lineup of gram Ultrabooks includes some of the thinnest and lightest PCs on the market today. And not only are they super easy to carry around with you, they also pack in a ton of high-end features. The 16-inch LG gram 16Z90Q in particular includes dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, microSD card reader, 1080p webcam with IR facial recognition, comfy keyboard, and enormous touchpad.

It’s powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1260P CPU with Intel Evo, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a 256GB M2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, and an 80Wh battery, giving you the right performance for 2022.

To top things off, it has a 16-inch display with 16:10 aspect ratio, QHD+ resolution, and 99% DCI-P3 color reproduction. If you’re searching for a premium laptop with up-to-date hardware, the LG gram 16 is currently down to $1,000 from the regular price of $1,450. That’s $450 off!

Vivobook S14

We’ve already seen plenty of high-end laptops go on sale and get a bunch of attention, but there are also some more affordable laptops getting even cheaper with Amazon’s Prime Early Access sale. One budget laptop in particular is the ASUS VivoBook S14 (S433). It’s our value pick when it comes to the best ASUS laptops, offering up a lightweight build, strong battery life, decent port selection, and capable performance.

This specific model on sale is configured with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 14-inch FHD display, making it cut out for productivity work and media consumption. Instead of the regular $730 price tag, it’s down to $590 for a savings of $140. It’s a great option if you need a laptop for around the house or the kids need something new for school.

Zotac RTX 3060 Ti

Remember last year when no one could find a good graphics card to buy, on sale or not? Yeah, us too. That has thankfully changed this year as the value of crypto took a dive, allowing PC gamers to get their hands on new GPUs without overpaying. In fact, the GPU market has healed up so much that we’re again seeing deals on cards.

The Zotac Gaming Twin Edge OC RTX 3060 Ti, a GPU that can easily handle modern AAA games at high framerates even in 1440p, is currently enjoying a 25% discount during Amazon’s Prime Early Access event. Instead of the regular $530 asking price, you’ll instead pay just $400. If you’ve been waiting awhile to upgrade your PC or build something new, this is a fantastic mid-range card even in the face of NVIDIA’s RTX 40-series GPUs being launched.

TP-Link Deco P9

Broadcasting seamless Wi-Fi to your entire house isn’t always easy. Radio signals get lost on their around corners and down hallways, and the farthest corners from your router might not be getting a proper signal. That’s an issue for anyone frequenting those corners, say in a bedroom or a basement. A popular solution is mesh Wi-Fi, which generally includes a number of nodes to complement a router, all broadcasting the same signal from different areas.

TP-Link’s Deco P9 (AC1200) is a fairly powerful option, offering coverage for up to 6,000 square feet (give or take some feet, as this is a claim made by TP-Link). The system is easy to set up, and it includes two nodes and one main router. It’s a dual-band system, but its AV1000 powerline backhaul channel means you don’t have to worry about slowdowns when the nodes are talking to each other. Regularly priced at $230, it’s now down to just $150 for Amazon’s Prime Early Access event.

Crucial P5 Plus Review

We’ve already seen a lot of great storage deals from Amazon’s Prime Early Access event, but this is one of the best if you’re looking to upgrade or build a new PC. We reviewed the Crucial P5 Plus earlier this year, noting that its price-to-performance ratio is about the best that you’re going to find. That’s even more true now that the regular $100 price tag for the 500GB model has been slashed down to $58 for a 42% saving.

This M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, in our testing, hit about 6,400MB/s read and 5,060MB/s write speeds, making it ideal for gaming or general large file transfers. These SSDs come with a five-year warranty and a 300TBW rating, meaning you can expect to get a lot of use out of the drive without worrying about durability.

Eufy Video Doorbell

Eufy’s new video doorbell has TWO cameras on it: One for looking at who is at your door (or your front yard) and another to keep an eye on any packages that were delivered.

Even better is this new doorbell is getting a BIG 25% discount for Amazon Prime members!

Eufy makes two versions of the dual doorbell, the wired one (seen here) and the one that relies on a battery for non-wired setups. You can see the battery-powered version and more cool Eufy security essentials that are on sale in this post

Samsung T7 Shield Review

Samsung’s T7 Shield Portable SSD is now on sale for a whopping $119 off at Amazon! That’s a steep discount that nets you 2TB of external solid-state storage for just $171. The T7 Shield is an excellent external drive, and we noted in our review that it has some of the best read and write speeds from a portable USB-C drive. All that comes packed in a ruggedized form factor that delivers dust and water resistance, drop protection, and extra AES encryption and password protection.

HP all-in-one computer

With a sculptural stand and a 21.5-inch display, HP’s compact all-in-one desktop is a great addition to a design-centric home, small spaces, and dorm rooms. Even though back-to-school season is well behind us this year, the HP AIO 21.5-inch’s sub-$500 price for Prime Day makes it a great buy for college students still on the hunt for a great desktop or a larger screen. The micro-edge display with minimal bezels give this desktop a modern look, and the built-in soundbar at the bottom gives you a terrific experience for consuming videos and listening in on video conference calls. This affordable desktop is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 3 processor and comes with a 256GB SSD.

The Victus comes with Intel’s 12th Gen Core i5-12500H processor, 8GB of memory, and a 512GB solid-state drive alongside discrete Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics. The only downside is the weight, and the Victus comes in at 7.54 pounds.

AMD Ryzen CPU

If you’re looking to upgrade an existing desktop, you may want to consider AMD’s Ryzen processor. Though the Ryzen 5000 series is now a few generations old given that the flagship Ryzen 7000 series recently launched, it still delivers great performance for those who don’t always need the latest and greatest tech. This powerful silicon is now nearly 50% off as part of Amazon’s Prime Day sale, bringing the price of the Ryzen 5 5600X 6-core, 12-Thread CPU down from $309 to just $164.

Are you an Alienware gamer?

If you are, Prime Day is an excellent opportunity to complete the look of your Alienware ecosystem by adding peripherals, such as a new keyboard, mouse, or headset. These accessories complement the look of your Alienware PC or laptop nicely, and because they’re designed by Alienware, they will work with AlienFX, giving you full control over the LED RGB backlight on all these products.

We’ve spotted discounts as large as 20% on Alienware’s tri-mode wireless mouse and headset, and even Alienware’s low-profile gaming keyboard with Cherry MX Red switches is $10 off.

Gateway 15.6-inch Notebook

While the Prime Early Access Sale puts Amazon in the spotlight, don’t overlook deals at other retailers. One highlight at Walmart is this Gateway laptop bundle, packing a laptop, mouse, and accompanying carry case into one easy purchase. Better yet, it’s 60% off right now, ideal for those wanting an effortlessly easy PC for the home.

This Gateway laptop isn’t winning any awards, with entry-level specs that will only get you through some web pages, documents, and some odd entertainment. It’s not suitable for gaming or any demanding tasks, though its low price makes this ideal for casual computing.

The specs list includes an Intel Core i3 processor, 4GB RAM, and a 128GB SSD. The highlights are a big 15.6-inch HD screen with dual stereo speakers, fit for watching movies and other videos online. It also ships with Windows 11, guaranteeing the best of Microsoft’s latest OS. Plus, the quoted 8.5 hours of battery life make it fit for traveling, with its accompanying carry case to prevent bumps and scratches.

CHUWI HeroBook Pro 14.1

The Prime Early Access Sale has discounted hundreds of laptops from top PC makers, including many at their record-low prices. It’s tempting to be swept by the cheap offers, though it pays to be cautious when shopping for a new PC.

We’ve scoured all the Prime Early Access offers and hunted down the cheapest laptops we can actually recommend. The CHUWI HeroBook Pro 14.1 tops that list, a 14-inch notebook with an impressively low price which we called a “steal” in our review. It’s now just $172 on Amazon, down from $258 during the Prime sale.

The latest CHUWI HeroBook Pro 14.1 has a 1080p HD screen with an Intel Gemini Lake N4020 chip, 6GB RAM, and a 128GB SSD. It has all-day battery life, quoted up to 9 hours, with a compact and lightweight form factor fit for travel. It also runs Windows 11.

“With an all-day battery, 1080p display, and all-around decent design, the HeroBook makes it easy to live with some of its shortcomings,” stated Senior Editor, Cale Hunt, in our review of its earlier 2019 model. If you don’t expect great performance or cutting-edge features, it’s a solid pick for browsing the web, editing documents, watching videos, and other light tasks.

Prices start as low as $10 for the affordable Logitech M170 wireless mouse, with the Logitech MK270 mouse and keyboard reduced to $20 for a simple desktop combo. The Logitech C615 webcam has also dropped from $70 to just $28.99, offering full HD video, beating out many laptop webcams.

You can find more Logitech discounts via its Amazon deal hub.

With Microsoft expected to bump its Surface Pro specs in a new model this week, it’s a welcome price cut anticipating the news. While Microsoft’s Surface Pro hasn’t seen drastic changes in a long time, it remains a popular choice for portable computing. That 13-inch touchscreen pairs great with Windows 11, with a range of keyboards and pens also available, blurring the line between a laptop and a tablet.

Amazon’s Prime Early Access Sale is now live across the world — you can check the highlights via Amazon’s Early Access Sale hub.

We’re just getting started and scoping out the deals available across the site, though rest assured, we’ll be rounding up the best of the season over the coming 48 hours. Don’t forget you’ll need an Amazon Prime membership to take advantage of these offers, though Amazon does offer a free trial if you’re new to the service.

The sale is fast approaching, but you’ll need to wait a little longer for Prime Early Access to get started. Amazon’s Prime Early Access Sale kicks off at 12 a.m. PDT / 3 a.m. EDT on Oct. 11 for those in the U.S. and Canada with deals running 48 hours, through Tuesday and Wednesday. There’s a similar 12 a.m. kick off in other regions, with deals cycling out throughout the day.

Welcome to our Prime Early Access Sale live blog! We’re just getting started ahead of this week’s event and looking out for the savings you can take advantage of right now. While we’re still early, and Amazon hasn’t put its complete catalog of deals live quite yet, we’re already ramping up our coverage on one of the year’s biggest shopping events.

Windows Central will be blogging throughout the two-day event, and later I’ll be joined by other team members, rounding up our top picks from all corners of the website. In the meantime, get your wallet ready, and keep your eyes peeled as more deals start hitting the Amazon homepage.

In the meantime, we recommend ensuring you have an active Amazon Prime membership or take advantage of the generous free trial available to new subscribers during the Prime Early Access Sale. — Matt Brown, Windows Central Senior Editor
