Battlefield 2042 beta begins in October
DICE announced on Tuesday that the open beta for Battlefield 2042 is going to begin on Oct. 8, in line with the dates given via a recent leak. Anyone who preordered the game is getting early access to the Battlefield 2042 beta and will be able to start playing on Oct. 6, two days before everyone else.
While there’s a list of maps included in Battlefield 2042 at launch, the beta will instead focus on the Orbital map, giving players access to the conquest mode and four specialists.
While it was originally slated to arrive on Oct. 22, Battlefield 2042 saw a slight delay and is instead arriving on Nov. 19, 2021. It’s coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, PS5 and PS4. The current-generation and PC versions of the game include much larger multiplayer maps, as well as support for 128 players per match. The Xbox One and PS4 versions are capped at 64 players due the older hardware in the systems.
