ASUS takes a page out of Surface’s playbook with new ZenBook S
Surface PCs are often lauded for their taller 3:2 displays, but the option hasn’t proved as popular among other PC manufacturers. That’s slowly started to change with more 3:2 and even 16:10 displays popping up on laptops in recent years, and that’s just what ASUS has done with the new ZenBook S (UX393).
Coming alongside the availability of ASUS latest ZenBook Flip 13 today, the new ZenBook S sets its sights more on people who may need to get some creative work done on the go. The 3300 x 2200 NanoEdge display is PANTONE certified and covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and 133 percent of the sRGB color space. Essentially, along with a taller display, you’re getting great color accuracy and detail with minimal bezels.
That same attention to detail is seen in the chassis as well, which come in a Jet Black finish with Red Copper diamond-cut edges. The edge-to-edge keyboard is covered with larger keycaps this go-around, and ASUS’ ErgoLift hinge gives you a comfortable typing angle by lifting the chassis when the lid is raised.
As you’d expect with a laptop in this class, the ZenBook S comes with a powerful processor, the Intel Core i7-1065G7. You also get 16GB of RAM and 1TB of PCIe NVMe storage. There are also plenty of ports on board, including support for Thunderbolt 3.
