ASUS packs a mighty punch with its newly refreshed Vivobook laptops

ASUS announced a refresh for its Vivobook Pro and S series, as well as all-new Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Artist Edition laptops. The company is continuing its push for OLED laptops with the latest processors from Intel and AMD, accompanied by the latest in graphics processing technology from NVIDIA.

The Vivobook Pro range includes range-topping models and ASUS has given them all the latest 12th Gen Intel Core H-series and AMD Ryzen 6000 H-series processors. These notebooks can also be kitted out with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPU. The Vivobook Pro laptop range takes advantage of the same IceCool Pro cooling systems as the newly refreshed 2022 ASUS Zenbooks.

This new range includes the Vivobook Pro 16X OLED (N7601/M7601), the 15.6-inch Vivobook Pro 15X OLED (K6501/M6501), the 14.5-inch Vivobook Pro 14X OLED (N7401), the 16-inch Vivobook Pro 16 OLED (K6602), and the 15.6-inch Vivobook Pro 15 OLED (K6502/K6500/M6500). It’s possible to choose up to an Intel Core i9-12900H or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX with up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM.

The flagship ASUS Vivobook 16X OLED comes with the world’s first 16-inch 3.2K 120Hz OLED display. Connectivity is as strong as the internals and display and can include Thunderbolt 4 (USB) and HDMI 2.1, along with USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 ports, an SD Express 7.0 microSD card reader, a 2.5 GbE LAN port, and the latest WiFi 6E.

If you’re wanting something a little more portable (and thinner), the Vivbook S series is for you, and ASUS also gave this range a refresh for 2022. Measuring in from just 17.9mm thin and weighing as little as 1.6kg, they’re exceptional for getting some work done while on the road.

The 2022 Vivobook S series lineup includes the 14.5-inch Vivobook S 14X OLED (S5402/M5402), the 16-inch Vivobook S 16X OLED (S5602/M5602), the 14-inch Vivobook S 14 OLED (K3402/M3402), and the 15.6-inch Vivobook S 15 OLED (K3502/M3502). S 14 and 15 models have metal lids while more premium S14X and 16X models are all-metal. Colors include Indie Black, Neutral Grey, or Brave Green for S 14 and 15, and Midnight Black, Solar Silver, or Sand Grey for S 14X and 16X.

Internal components include up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor, Intel Iris Xe or AMD Radeon GPUs, upgradable 16GB DDR4 RAM, and a 1TB PCIe SSD. Even though ASUS made use of a thin and light chassis, the company has been able to pack a punch with the Vivobook S lineup.

For displays, ASUS makes use of OLED NanoEdge panels with resolutions of up to 4K. The S range can also be kitted out with the same world’s first 14.5-inch and 15.6-inch 2.8K 120 Hz OLED panels. To top everything off is the enlarged ASUS ErgoSense touchpad, which is also more responsive than ever, according to ASUS.

ASUS also announced the new Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Philip Colbert Edition and the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Steven Harrington Edition laptops. These are two limited-edition models designed in partnership with the respective world-renowned artist. Availability for the latest ASUS Vivobook laptops is expected to commence this May.
