Windows 10 OS Builds 19042.1645, 19043.1645, and 19044.1645 (KB5012599) are now live, as is Windows 11 OS Build 22000.613 (KB5012592). Here’s what the latest Patch Tuesday updates have to offer.

On the Windows 11 front, it’s as simple as security updates, servicing stack updates, and a single note: “This update contains miscellaneous security improvements to internal OS functionality. No additional issues were documented for this release.”

There’s also a status report on how Microsoft’s doing with the Windows recovery disc issue that recently made the news cycle. Microsoft summarizes it by saying, “after installing the Windows updates released January 11, 2022 or later Windows versions on an affected version of Windows, recovery discs (CD or DVD) created by using the Backup and Restore (Windows 7) app in Control Panel might be unable to start.” The company then says a proper fix will be available in a future release.

For Windows 10, the patch notes include a mention of version 20H2’s service ending on May 10, 2022, meaning no more monthly quality updates for anyone on that version of the OS. 20H2 is also the only W10 variant with a special patch note this time around: “addresses an issue that causes a Denial of Service vulnerability on Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV). For more information, see CVE-2020-26784.” This update was available in March 22’s KB5011543 update.

All supported versions of Windows 10 received the usual servicing stack and security updates.
