Android 12L is out today, but will Galaxy users get it?
Although Android has been the world’s most popular smartphone platform for close to a decade, its success wasn’t translated as well into the tablet segment. To remedy the situation, Google announced Android 12L a few weeks ago. Today, the company released the final version of Android 12L.
The final version of Android 12L (some are calling it Android 12.1) was released to Pixel smartphones as a part of the latest’ Feature Drop’ update. However, most Android 12L features won’t be visible even to Pixel smartphone users as those improvements were designed for big-screen devices like foldable phones and tablets. So, will Galaxy smartphones and tablets get the Android 12L update?
Samsung has already made several multitasking and UI improvements for its foldable phones and tablets with One UI. Since Samsung already has several of those features, it is being reported that the company might not release Android 12L to its smartphones. It might still release the Android 12L update to its tablets (and probably foldables).
Android 12L features a taskbar, which makes it easier to switch between apps. It also features separate panes for notifications and quick setting toggles. It also offers a much better multitasking experience, thanks to improvements under the hood. All these improvements are included in Android 13 as well, so we are not sure if even Galaxy tablets would get the Android 12L update.
