Android 11 rollout goes global for Asus Zenfone 7 and Zenfone 7 Pro

Back in March Asus finally released the stable update to Android 11 for both the Zenfone 7 and Zenfone 7 Pro. The rollout was initially limited to the company’s home market of Taiwan, but now it’s gone global.

The new build is rolling out over-the-air, but as usual it’s most likely a phased affair, so it may still take a few days (or even weeks) before it reaches all units out there. Alternatively, the files are also available for manual download from Asus’ support website, for the people who know what they’re doing and have no problem fiddling with manual installs.

Once installed, you’ll be on build 30.40.30.96, with Android 11 of course, and the March 2021 security patch level – not current anymore, but close enough. As before, Asus’ ROM is really close to stock, at least in looks, and obviously you’re getting everything that Google packed into Android 11 last year. Hopefully Asus will get faster with these when Android 12 hits.
