AMD set revenue records in Q4 2021 and for all of last year
AMD just shared figures for the fourth quarter of 2021 and for the entirety of last year. The tech giant brought in record revenue in both the final quarter of 2021 and in the year overall. Growth was driven by several factors, including “growing adoption” of AMD’s EPYC processors in the cloud and enterprise space.
In Q4 2021, AMD brought in $4.8 billion of revenue, which is an increase of 49% year-over-year. The company’s operating income in that quarter was $1.2 billion, and its net income was $974 million.
AMD earned $16.4 billion in revenue in 2021. Its operating income was $3.6 billion, and its net income was $3.2 billion.
“2021 was an outstanding year for AMD with record annual revenue and profitability,” said Dr. Lisa Su, AMD’s President and CEO. “Each of our businesses performed extremely well, with data center revenue doubling year-over-year driven by growing adoption of AMD EPYC processors across cloud and enterprise customers. We expect another year of significant growth in 2022 as we ramp our current portfolio and launch our next generation of PC, gaming and data center products.
AMD expects revenue of approximately $5.0 billion in the first quarter of 2022. Revenue of approximately $21.5 billion is expected by AMD for all of 2022.
