AMD Radeon RX 6000M Series mobile graphics unveiled at Computex 2021
AMD unveiled its Radeon RX 6000M Series mobile graphics at Computex 2021. Despite being mobile GPUs, AMD states that they deliver “desktop-class performance,” including ultra-high frame rate 1440p gaming. The flagship processor of the new lineup is the Radeon RX 6800M. That processor was announced alongside the Radeon RX 6700M and the Radeon RX 6600M.
The new Radeon RX 6000M Series mobile processors combine with AMD’s Ryzen 5000 Series Mobile CPUs and AMD Radeon Software to make up the newly-announced AMD Advantage Design Framework. This framework is part of a collaboration between AMD and several global partners to make gaming laptops.
The first AMD Advantage laptops are expected in the beginning of this month. Based on the specs of the RX 6000M mobile GPUs and AMD Ryzen 5000 mobile CPUs, AMD Advantage laptops should be some of the best gaming laptops you can buy. The ROG Strix G15/G17 Advantage Edition and HP Omen 16 laptops are among the first AMD Advantage gaming laptops. MSI and Lenovo are also expected to announce AMD Advantage laptops.
The new Radeon RX 6000M Series mobile graphics are built on AMD RDNA 2 gaming architecture. As a result, AMD states they deliver up to 1.5 times higher performance while using up to 43 percent less power. They also support AMD Infinity Cache and DirectX Raytracing (DXR).
AMD highlights five features supported by RX 6000M Series mobile graphics:
On top of the hardware announcements and the AMD Advantage Design Framework, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) was announced at Computex. It boosts frame rates up to 2.5 times for supported titles in 4K resolution. Over ten games will support FSR in 2021, with some games rolling out FSR support later this month.
