Microsoft’s beloved 2-in-1 has received a tempting price cut thanks to the Prime Early Access Sale, slashing up to 27% off the PC range. Microsoft Surface Pro 8, the latest in the company’s staple line-up, marks its most powerful yet, and it’s now more affordable than ever.

Prime Early Access Sale discounts only apply to its i7-equipped models, with prices starting at $1,169.99 for an Intel Evo Platform Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD. Amazon has also discounted the same model with 512GB and 1TB SSDs, plus its top-spec config with a monstrous Core i7, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD trio.

With Microsoft expected to bump its Surface Pro specs in a new model this week, it’s a welcome price cut anticipating the news. While Microsoft’s Surface Pro hasn’t seen drastic changes in a long time, it remains a popular choice for portable computing. That 13-inch touchscreen pairs great with Windows 11, with a range of keyboards and pens also available, blurring the line between a laptop and a tablet.

Amazon’s Prime Early Access Sale is now live across the world — you can check the highlights via Amazon’s Early Access Sale hub.

We’re just getting started and scoping out the deals available across the site, though rest assured, we’ll be rounding up the best of the season over the coming 48 hours. Don’t forget you’ll need an Amazon Prime membership to take advantage of these offers, though Amazon does offer a free trial if you’re new to the service.

The sale is fast approaching, but you’ll need to wait a little longer for Prime Early Access to get started. Amazon’s Prime Early Access Sale kicks off at 12 a.m. PDT / 3 a.m. EDT on Oct. 11 for those in the U.S. and Canada with deals running 48 hours, through Tuesday and Wednesday. There’s a similar 12 a.m. kick off in other regions, with deals cycling out throughout the day.

Windows Central will be blogging throughout the two-day event, and later I’ll be joined by other team members, rounding up our top picks from all corners of the website. In the meantime, get your wallet ready, and keep your eyes peeled as more deals start hitting the Amazon homepage.

In the meantime, we recommend ensuring you have an active Amazon Prime membership or take advantage of the generous free trial available to new subscribers during the Prime Early Access Sale. — Matt Brown, Windows Central Senior Editor
